Boost your career & improve your CV. A convincing CV is the ticket for an interview. HR professionals spend only a few minutes on reading your application and to decide whether or not to invite you for an interview. Are you interested in optimizing your CV in general or want just to get feedback from an expert? Then take the chance for a quick check of your individual resume. Several exhibitors offer quick CV checks at their booths or within the meet & greet area. Booths offering CV checks are indicated within the exhibitors profiles. Take your printed CV to the fair.

Some exhibitors will offer presentations, where they will give insights into their organisation, career opportunities and job profiles. There will also be time for Q&A and tips for your application. For details about the presentations please have a look at detailed program. Employer presentations take place in seminar room C.E.21 and are limited to 120 participants. You can secure your slot within the online registration system from May 11-14 on first come first serve basis. For remaining places you can register on site at the registration desk.

The online TALENT POOL is the treasure trove for recruiters. As a registered participant you can submit your CV in advance or after the fair. Starting on May 2, all exhibitors will get access to the TALENT POOL and screen the submitted CVs for potential candidates. Employers may contact you and arrange an interview during the LIFE SCIENCE CAREER FAIR for a particular job offer or to give you feedback on your CV. So, prepare your CV in time and take a printed version to the fair! The TALENT POOL will be open until June 30, 2023, so employers may get back to you also after the event. We also highly recommend the creation of / or updating of your LinkedIn profile and indicate following during registration. Exhibitors will get a participants list incl. your contact details and link to your LinkedIn profile. Your LinkedIn profile is, besides your CV in the TALENT POOL, the most important source of information for recruiters, before they meet you in person at the career fair.

During the opening session in the morning, there will be “elevator pitches” (2 minutes 2 slides presentations) by the exhibitors. This will give you an excellent overview and will help you lay out your route through the exhibition and to decide which exhibitors you want to visit. So don´t miss the pitches!

Career workshops on different topics and for different target groups are offered to support the participants in their next career steps. For details about the workshops please have a look at the program. Career workshops take place in seminar rooms C.E.21 (up to 120 places) and C.E.01 (limited to 50 places). You can secure your slot within the online registration system from May 11-14 on first come first serve basis. For remaining places you can register on site at the registration desk.

You are still missing a professional photo for your CV? Take this opportunity and book your personal fotoshooting slot at the fair with the photographer. You can secure your time slot on site at the registration desk on first-come first-serve basis. If you are not a member yet, sign up for membership online oegmbt.at/membership1/studentische-und-ordentliche-mitglieder and pay the membership fee in advance. This service is free of charge and limited to predefined time slots during the fair. So grab a suitable oufit and do your hair ;-)

Young life scientists and young pro- fessionals are often not aware of all the job possibilities “out there in the field” and job titles certainly are not self-explana- tory. During the LIFE SCIENCE CAREER FAIR you will have many opportunities to receive information about job profiles by participating at EMPLOYER PRESENTATIONS and visiting and talking to the exhibitors. The issue of Job Profiles is also addressed by ÖGMBT-YLSA (Young Life Scientists Austria) during recurring events and worked out in a summary, which can be found here: oegmbt.at/services/job-profiles

The JOB WALL will feature various current job listings around the meet & greet area at the fair. Go through and take a snapshot. The ÖGMBT offers also a Job Board on its webpa- ge. Take a look and inform yourself about current opportunities. You can find bachelor-, master- and PHD-positions as well as long term employment of- fers. The Job Board is available all year round and recent offers are highlighted within the ÖGMBT newsletter to members.
