The UBB is a brand new university campus, housing large parts of the Faculty of Life Sciences and parts of the Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science as well as the Biology and Botany Library (Biology Section).
The main auditoria (HS 1 & HS 2) feature tiered seating and natural lighting. Everything is accessible via the long hallway, which will be the space for the industry exhibition – this guarantees a good flow of people within the exhibition area and the lecture halls.
The UBB is accessible for handicapped persons, however, the two auditoria HS 1 & HS 2 have tiered seating. The industry exhibition will be in the full accessible hallway.

Getting to Vienna
Travel by airplane: a variety of airlines services the Vienna International Airport. The airport is easy to be reached by public transport – see description below.
Special Lufthansa Group airlines fares
Travel by train: the Austrian Federal Railway (ÖBB) offers good connections from all of Europe to Vienna. The main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is very near to the venue of the ÖGMBT Annual Meeting and within easy reach by public transport – see description below.
Getting around Vienna
From the airport take the ÖBB train S7 direction "Wien Floridsdorf" or train S2 direction "Laa/Thaya Bahnhof" until "Wien-Mitte Landstraße". (Note: There is no train service in the night hours between 00:00 and 5:00.)
From "Wien Mitte-Landstraße " take the bus 74A until Viehmarktgasse, then cross the street and you will see the University of Vienna Biology Building.
You can buy tickets for the train directly at vending machines on the platform. Choose "Schlachthausgasse" as destination. You will pay around 5 to 6 EUR (2,40 for the train, about 3 for the bus).
The "City Airport Train" (CAT) which also goes to "Wien-Mitte Landstraße" is a couple of minutes faster but costs around 12 EUR just for the train (no metro).

From the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) take tram 18 in direction of Erdbergstraße. Get off at Viehmarktgasse, then cross the street and you will see the University of Vienna Biology Building.

For registered participants we will offer a selection of discounted hotels which can be booked at a later time in the registration system under "Accommodation" after logging in. This is an optional service and you are free to book your accommodation using your own methods.
Hotel cancellation policies are up to each hotel - usually cancellation free of charge is possible 14 days prior to arrival! Cancellations have to be communicated via e-mail to the hotel.
Please notice that the ÖGMBT is not directly involved the hotel booking apart from providing the booking access and any questions regarding the bookings and hotels should be directed to the hotel you have booked here respectively.
HOTEL SCAM ALERT
In recent years it has come to our attention that companies (e.g. ehotelservices.org) or individuals claiming to be affiliated with the ÖGMBTannual meeting may contact via phone or email invited speakers and participants by posing as travel or hotel booking agencies offically endorsed by us. They may try to lead you to reveal your credit card information or otherwise offer your dubious travel or accomodation deals. Please be aware that these are scams as we do not have any accociations with such agencies.
The ÖGBMT Jahrestagung is not affiliated in any way with ehotelservices.org or any other travel agent. The only way for our delegates to reserve a hotel room under the ÖGMBT Jahrestagung special Rate is to make bookings directly through the partner hotel(s), using the accommodation booking link in our registration system.
Data protection and privacy is of the utmost importance for us and your contact information has not been compromised by ÖGBMT Jahrestagung Organizers. The agencies are accessing public congress information and searching contact details through search engines like Google.
What to do if you have been contacted by a scam company about booking hotels/travel?
- If you have given out your credit card information to ehotelservices.org or anyone who called you about booking hotel rooms for the ÖGBMT Jahrestagung, call your credit card company immediately, alert them to the scam, and deny the charge.
- Change your online passwords and PINs to prevent fraudsters from doing any further damage.
- Continue to monitor your credit card to look for fraudulent charges. Request further information from your credit card company regarding closing your account or issuing a new card.
Book your rooms only through the official accommodation booking link or reservation form.
