This course focuses on recent developments in cellular, molecular and organismal immunology. It will cover fundamental basic immunology as well as newly emerging areas, including, among others: in vivo fate mapping of the generation and maintenance of the immune system from stem cells; the impact of immunity on metabolism, and vice versa; metabolism within immune cells; the role of microbiota on immunity, and vice versa; mechanisms of malignant transformation of lymphocytes; human and murine T and B cell biology; molecular control of inflammation and infection (including parasites); transcriptional control of lymphocyte development and functions; origins and functions of tissue-resident macrophages; and epigenetic control of immunity.
