The Knoblich lab at IMBA in Vienna is currently offering a 12-month Master’s project. Their lab pioneered the development of cerebral organoids—3D stem-cell-derived models that recapitulate the earliest stages of human brain formation and network development.

This project aims to investigate how healthy network activity is established during human brain development and to identify the mechanisms by which genetic perturbations derail this process, specifically focusing on the refinement of the excitatory-inhibitory balance.
