available in the Christian Doppler laboratory for Optimized Expression of Carbohydrate-active Enzymes at TU Wien under supervision of Prof. Astrid Mach-Aigner

The research in the CD-laboratory involves studies on the improvement of the performance and stability of industry strains of the species Trichoderma reesei. This includes studies of the regulatory impact of non-coding RNAs and eventual epigenetic causes including classic epigenetics like DNA methylation or histone modifications for the degeneration of industrially used strains.

Further tasks:

·      Writing scientific articles or patents

·      Presentation of research results at scientific conferences

·      Participating in teaching, and supervising (PhD-), MSc- and Bac-students

Start / Period: from 1^st April 2022 / for 18 months (prolongation possible)

Salary / Working hours: 3,945.90 € pre-tax per month / 40 h per week (PostDoc)

                                             2,228.70 € pre-tax per month / 30 h per week (PhD/PreDoc)

Requirements:

·      PhD/MSc degree in the field of molecular biology, biochemistry or genetics (obligatory)

·      Experience with filamentous fungi, in particular Trichoderma reesei (advantageous)

·      Excellent in English spoken and written (obligatory)

·      Excellent in German spoken and written (advantageous)
