Associate Director Technology Transfer (f/m/d), 80-100%, Global Drug Development, Austria & Switzerland

74! The number of medical device and drug-device combination product projects in Novartis. Without a safe, user friendly, high-quality drug delivery system our patients cannot administer their medicine. The global Technical Transfer team needs you to lead and support the launch of one of the most diverse and innovative portfolios in the pharma industry. You enable our organization and your team to timely move our smartly developed and competitive products to the clinical trials by successfully managing the Transfer Team of drug-device combination products!

Your Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the Technical Transfer Group as the Group Head within the Portfolio & Customer Center, responsible for the technical transfers of combination products to primarily clinical or launch and manufacturing sites for assigned projects.
• Liaises efficiently with related global functions, in particular Global Device & Packaging Development, Novartis Technical Operations, Manufacturing Science & Technologies, Global Clinical Supplies, Regulatory and Supply Chain.
• Enable your associates to provide technical manufacturing expertise during development stages of medical device and combination product projects for parenteral administration.
• Support to translate design output requirements of selected drug-device combination products (for example, prefilled syringes in (smart) Autoinjectors or Needle Safety devices) into clinical production site specific process and control parameters for assembly and packaging.
• Manage technical and design transfer of drug-device combination products to selected e.g. clinical sites within and outside of the Novartis network.
• Steer the coordination of final assembly and packaging activities of drug-device combination products to ensure that your team supports the supply of Clinical PhIII, Human Factors Engineering, Design Verification and Shipping Verification samples.
• Support Site Engineering teams in defining and qualifying combination product assembly & packaging equipment.
• Support the Global Device & Packaging Development organization with strategic measures and future planning of the group in respect to technology transfers with a focus on clinical supplies.

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• University degree in engineering, pharmaceutical technology or similar discipline.
• Successfully demonstrated at least 5-10 years of related experience with medical devices / combination products.
• Experience in people managing and a strong leadership focus to support and enable associates.
• Thorough understanding of development processes, good knowledge of state-of-the-art technology / equipment and knowledge of related basic regulations.
• Strong project and management skills, strong communication / presentation skills and scientific / technical writing
• Fluent in English, German beneficial

The base pay is composed of a market oriented excess payment and the respective amount according to the Austrian collective agreement (at least € 62.146,14 per year on a full time basis).
