PhD Student
(30 hour/week)

 


For the project: “Validation of three different ASD mouse models for efficacy analyses of newly developed serotonin multi-target drugs.” The project will be performed in cooperation with the University of Graz and the University of Bari, Italy.


Your Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Treatment of mice using different routes
  • Behavioral tests for repetitive behavior, social deficits, activity and anxiety
  • Plan, perform, analyze and report animal experiments as well as histological and biochemical tests of brain tissues
  •  3-month stay abroad at cooperating laboratory in Italy to perform HPLC analyses
  •  Preparation of scientific posters and publications
  •  Visit of scientific conferences
  • Presentation of data at in-house meetings and at the University of Graz

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent
  • Strong background in animal treatment and animal behavioral tests
  •  Experience in histological analyses and protein biochemistry preferred
  •  Fluent in written and spoken English
  •  Experienced user of Microsoft Office, Graph Pad Prism, Reference Manager or EndNote
  •  Able to work independently
  •  Good team player
  •  Self-motivated
