A part time temporary postdoctoral research fellow position (20 h, 01.08.2019 - 31.03.2021) is available in the starting laboratory of Dr. Markus Schosserer at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (Department of Biotechnology). We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic candidate with a research interest in RNA modifications, ribosome biology and/or biology of ageing.

With a doctoral degree in cellular/molecular biology or another relevant subject area, the successful candidate is expected to have practical experience in culturing mammalian cells and working with RNA. Expertise in the work with Caenorhabditis elegans, bioinformatics, ribosomes and/or biological ageing research is a plus. Moreover, documented ability to independently design and analyse experiments, fluency in oral and written English, proficiency in scientific writing and good presentation skills are required.

The successful candidate will work within an international team on the characterization of RNA modifications in the biological context of ageing-associated diseases, development and biotechnology, among others. Influence on global and specific protein synthesis, as well as physiological consequences at cellular and organism level will be tested.
