Die ÖGMBT vergibt im Jahr 2011 drei Dissertationspreise. Durch diese Preise sollen hervorragende Dissertationen auf den Gebieten der molekularen Biowissenschaften und der Biotechnologie Anerkennung finden.
Die Dissertationspreise bestehen aus einer Einladung zu einer „ÖGMBT Lecture” im Rahmen der ÖGMBT Jahrestagung 2011 vom 28. - 30. September 2011 in Puch bei Salzburg sowie einer Zuwendung von je 1.000 Euro.
