Research Award for Young Scientists

The Austrian Association of Molecular Life Sciences and Biotechnology invites entries for its annual research award for young scientists working in Austria for outstanding scientific performance. It is on schedule to continue the awards from the previous associations such as the OGMB, ÖGGGT and ÖGBT. Invitation for entries will be early in 2010. The awards ceremony will be held at the ÖGMBT's Annual Meeting in September.
Travelling Grants for Young Scientists
The ÖGMBT allocates contributions to facilitate the participation in national and international conferences and meetings for young scientist (graduates, doctorands and post-docs). Grants will be processed by the regional branches (WEST, EAST, SOUTH, NORTH).
Please apply at your Branch Manager.
There are two Application-Deadlines: 15. April, 15. October.
Conditions for Approval of Grants
a) Status as student (graduates, doctorants) or post-doc up to 3 years after graduation
b) A career equivalent publication
c) Valid membership with ÖGMBT
d) A presentation (oral or poster) to be held at the annual event
e) General maximal grant: Austria, Europe: € 300.- Overseas: € 500.-
f) The ÖGMBT contribution is limited to travel expenses not financed through other parties

Seminares and Lectures

ÖGMBT (through its provincial divisions) partly together with other scientific associations, finances seminars and lectures concerning genetics, genetic engineering and molecular biology partly in cooperation. Please apply at your Branch Manager
