Beschreibung: |
High grade serous ovarian cancers (HGSOC) account for about 75% of all ovarian carcinomas. Standard treatment includes debulking surgery and platinum-based chemotherapy. Although most patients show primary response, they frequently relapse and eventually develop resistant disease and die. Cancer recurrence and resistance are considered the major causes of death.
Objectives: to study the molecular mechanisms underlying ovarian cancer progression and to define targetable genes/ pathways for new therapeutic strategies.
Duration: 1 year, start as early as possible
Payment: Forschungsbeihilfe nach MUW Schema
Techniques: Experimental techniques include genetics, gene expression and protein expression analysis of tumor cells (cell culture, RT-qPCR, Western blotting, cloning, fragment analysis, sequencing), IHC, IF, apoptosis assay, viability/survival assays, senescence assay.
